Rumi Restaurant - Afghan BBQ

It was my first visit to this restaurant, and I was most impressed by its cleanliness, design, and excellent customer service. I also thoroughly enjoyed the high quality of the food and the manner in which it was presented. The restaurant's ambiance and photographs were both beautiful and evocative. Finally, I appreciated that, even during Ramadan, the restaurant remained open, demonstrating respect for diverse beliefs.

Started off with the Beef Qorma which is really good with the fresh bread they serve. Must try the Qabuli Uzbeki for a delicious fall off the bone lamb shank. Chicken tandoori is also very juicy and flavourful. While the rice could have been better as it lacked flavour, overall this place is highly recommended.

And more than that, I found Anas. He doesn’t just serve you. He sees you. With a smile that feels like home and a presence that’s warm, intuitive, and full of grace, Anas turns a simple dinner into something unforgettable. From the moment I stepped in, I felt like family. And the food? It’s everything you dream Afghan BBQ could be rich, smoky, deeply spiced, and lovingly prepared. Every bite feels like a memory from a place you've never been, but somehow know, with excellent music collections. At Rumi, the flavors are fire. But Anas? He’s the soul of it all.

I really enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. The food was fresh, smelled amazing, and tasted great. The service was friendly and efficient. It’s a quiet restaurant with plenty of parking, which is a big plus. Prices were a bit higher than I expected, but overall, it was a good experience.

The flavors were amazing and everything was cooked perfectly. The service was just as great. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and made me feel right at home. Highly recommend Afghani place in Orleans Ottawa. I was passing through on a road trip and randomly stopped there for a quick bite. We liked the place so much we went there on the way back as well. We only had some sandwiches for take out but it was definitely worth it. Next time I will try to dine in and have one of their signature plates. We had the tandoori chicken wrap. It was bursting with flavour, the chicken was juicy, the wrap was also delicious. Very generous amount of chicken and a relatively big sandwich for the price of 11. Highly recommended!

Half tandoori chicken is a great bang for your buck! I wasn't sure if it would be too spicy, but I found it to be quite mild. The naan is delicious, I'm pretty sure it is made in-house.
